History of the Bosey MC 

After the first Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker was created and later redesigned with Charles “Chuck” Taylor’s ideas in 1921, there have been many reiterations of this historic shoe.

We’ve taken elements from the utility styles of the past in creating the Bosey MC, bringing a modern twist to Converse’s 1940s Lakestream wading shoe. From creating footwear for soldiers in WWII to making footwear for modern sneaker lovers, we have reinterpreted the sneaker’s toe guard and insole to provide maximum comfort.

The Bosey MC utility high top style is inspired by an archival 1950's Converse wading boot. Known for helping fishermen brave wet conditions when spending hours in rivers, streams or the ocean, wading boots are the perfect shoe to draw inspiration from when transforming the classic Chuck Taylor All Stars. The Bosey MC offers safety and ease in slippery conditions with the wading boot’s rubber toe guard for traction, non-slip grip and an ankle-bracing high cut style for weather-ready protection. Made to be worn over long periods, the Bosey MC's insole is crafted to provide maximum comfort.

Collaborations

Recently, the Bosey MC sneaker has made a comeback within collaborations with some of the world's most reknowned street fashion brands.

In late 2020, Brain Dead expressed a modern take on the Bosey MC, playing with a lower collar height and expressing the shoe’s utility background through graphics. Brain Dead’s visual identity is complemented by tactile layering and details like a reinforced foam collar lining, cord loop heel pulls and lacing cables.

The Bosey will also feature prominently in Converse's newest collaboration with Italian streetwear label Slam Jam. Releasing on Thursday 25 March, the Converse x Slam Jam Collection pulls inspiration from the outdoors to create a distinct and modern Bosey MC in a high and low top.

The Converse x Slam Jam Bosey MC Collection will be available online at converse.com.au on Thursday 25 March.
