In fact, often the stories are even better when there is a friend or two along for the ride. Crews around the world remind us of that when we are independent enough not to follow and are true to ourselves.

Youths in Balaclava. Who are they?

YIB is a Singaporean crew made up of men and women all under the age of 24. Some of us are designers, financial advisors, musicians, and firefighters, among other professions. They work together to cultivate one-off projects and fashion collections.

They know all the fashion rules, but prefer to break them. This is Youths In Balaclava.

When it comes to designs and projects, Youths in Balaclava represent an unseen and unexpected side of Singapore, embracing their own crew’s diversity.

“Youths In Balaclava is just 80% youths, 20% cowboys.”

They just came up with it. They are writing their own fashion rules.

The Youths In Balaclava crew are shown in Chuck 70’s. The Chuck 70 sneaker is built from the original Chuck Taylor All Star design, with extraordinary attention to detail.
