In recognition of World AIDS Day, we've teamed up with Chicago-based artist Cody Hudson to bring you the latest Paint the Town (Red) collaboration.

The limited edition Cody Hudson x Converse (Red) Chuck Taylor All-Star features a premium leather upper with unique embossing on the side and tongue. Deep brown leather is contrasted with blue toecap, red/blue laces and blue lining, giving the artists interpretation of the Chuck Taylor an Americana look.

Cody Hudson founded Struggle Inc, a commercial art house based in Chicago. It's known for the production of clean, multi-dimensional graphics and design aesthetics that are part, urban modernism and part, organic visual deconstruction. Hudson's work has travelled the world including the U.S, Europe and Japan.

Proceeds from the limited edition shoe go to (RED) for large-scale prevention, treatment and care programs for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Africa.

December 1st is not only World AIDS Day and the day you put up your Christmas tree, but also the day Hype DC releases 12 pairs of these at their Sydney store in Pitt Street Mall.

Another Converse Paint the Town (Red) collaboration is about to hit Aussie shores. This time it is an interpretation of the Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Black Monochrome by New York artist Giovanni Estevez.

As New-York as they come Gio Estevez grew up watching the greatest artists of the 20th century make their mark on the subways and streets of the city. Inspired, he embarked on a career as an artist which has led him to his current clothing design project "ANX", as well as a sizable backlog of designs, illustrations, paintings and collaborations along the way. His version of the Chuck Taylor All Star serves as a canvas for a unique embroidered design taken from a series of illustrations Gio has become recognized for. "It's not something easily explained, but the drawing represents how I feel about New York City." The black on black embroidery is placed on heavy-duty, rain resistant, twill. " I love to wear canvas Chucks year-round and wanted to create a pair with a canvas that can stand up to NYC weather," he says. Rounding out the design, the tongue and foot bed features designs that echo his artwork as well as his signature.

You can buy one of twelve pairs at Hype Dc Pitt St. in Sydney starting Saturday September 25th, 2010.

This is the second installment of our collaboration with Takahiro Miyashita's label Number (N)ine; with a reinterpretation of the Converse Odessa trainer. The asymmetrical lacing and sole of the Odessa trainer were considered innovative in the 80's and we rarely see this shoe revived.

Takahiro Miyashita has been wearing Converse shoes since he was young, so it seems only fitting that his label is celebrated with this final product collaboration from Number (N)ine.

The Number (N)ine Odessa will be available in black and white Deer Skin upper at Hype DC Pitt St. in Sydney on Saturday September 18th, 2010.
